David di Donatello Awards /
Stunning success for the movies showcased in the 2017 edition of Cinema Italian Style Los Angeles, carefully selected by Artistic Curator Laura Delli Colli.
They scored 11 David di Donatello Awards last night in Rome (lifetime achievement to Steven Spielberg, from the hands of Monica Bellucci, special award to Diane Keaton and Stefania Sandrelli), including Best Movie (LOVE AND BULLETS by Manetti Bros), Best Director (Jonas Carpignano for A CIAMBRA), Best Leading Actress (Jasmine Trinca for FORTUNATA by Sergio Castellitto), Best Leading Actor (Renato Carpentieri for HOLDING HANDS by Gianni Amelio), Best Supporting Actress (Claudia Gerini for LOVE AND BULLETS), Best Supporting Actor (Giuliano Montaldo for FRIENDS BY CHANCE by Francesco Bruno). Special mention to Antonio Piazza and Fabio Grassadonia, awarded for Best Adapted Screenplay for SICILIAN GHOST STORY, opening night movie of Cinema Italian Style – Hong Kong Edition.
Cinema Italian Style, created in 2004 by Gwen Deglise, Dennis Bartok (American Cinematheque) and Camilla Cormanni (Luce Cinecittà), is co-presented by the American Cinematheque and Luce Cinecittà, under the auspices of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles, the Italian Trade Agency and the Italian Cultural Institute.
