The 2013 edition of CinemaItalianStyle - the Los Angeles glamorous showcase for Italian contemporary cinema produced by Luce Cinecittà and the American Cinematheque - takes place this year from November 14th to 18th and it will be dedicated to Federico Fellini, on the twentieth anniversary of his death. CIS 2013 will present a film and a documentary selection compiled by the artistic curator Laura DelliColli, of Italy’s best and most recent productions, including The great beauty by Paolo Sorrentino, the Italian Entry - Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards®.
A rich and talented cast of actors, directors and producers will be in town to introduce the movies meet with the audience in occasion of the screenings.

This year’s edition includes important collaborations. A first time partnership with AFI Fest, which includes, on November 10th, an evening dedicated to one of the greatest Maestro of Italian Cinema, Bernardo Bertolucci, who will present the US premiere of the restored version of his 9 times Oscar® winning movie “The Last Emperor” in 3D.
At the Chinese theater, during the days of the AFI Fest 2013, a selection of vintage pictures taken from the Archivio Luce will be on display in the exhibition “Hollywood - Roma", portraits of the protagonists of international cinema visiting Rome in the ‘50s.

After two years of growing collaboration, Luce Cinecittà with the Seattle International Film Festival, will present “Cinema Italian Style in Seattle”, from November 14th to 21st, thus allowing titles and talents to reach, after their Los Angeles debut, one of the most vibrant audiences of the United States.

As every year, the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles will support Cinema Italian Style, giving home to a series of initiatives that will enrich the program at the American Cinematheque Theatres. Fabio Lovino, one of the most versatile contemporary Italian photographer, will unveil his book “Portraits” and a selection of its most representative images will be shown in the elegant spaces of the Institute in Hilgard Avenue till the end of December 2013.
A rich selection of documentaries will mix great portraits of Italian myths of cinema (Bernardo Bertolucci, Carlo Verdone, Giuseppe Tornatore, Anna Magnani, Furio Scarpelli, Giuliano Montaldo) with contemporary and social themes (Anija and Terramatta).
